The storm that has hit northwest Syria since last night has left scores of displaced civilians injured and dozens of camps damaged.

The Syrian Civil Defense Organization, White Helmets, reported that 4 civilians (two girls, a woman and a young person) were injured in the Idlib countryside due to the strong wind that affected most of Syria.

In addition to the damage to the inner materials of the tents, damage such as the destruction of the tents and the dismantling of the others occurred.

According to the team, the total damage was caused by the poor quality of the tents used in the camps and not being able to withstand the weather conditions.

In addition, hundreds of tents are worn out as a result of their long-term wear and tear, not being able to be replaced with new ones, and the establishment of modern shelters in unqualified areas that cannot withstand strong winds. storms

Warning the displaced that the storm will continue for a longer period of time, the team called for security measures to be taken in the camps and warned that the expected rains could increase the damage in the camps.

The team called on humanitarian organizations to urgently and urgently assist the displaced people living in these camps due to the damage caused by the storm.

It is worth noting that the northwestern region of Syria contains more than 1,200 camps inhabited by more than a million people displaced from various Syrian provinces who have fled their homes due to bombing and forced displacement operations by Assad forces.
