The Global Justice and Arab Democratic Alliance congratulated the government and people of Turkey on the success of the presidential election and the democratic atmosphere that dominated the elections, and called on the Turkish government to hold elections for Syrians residing in northwest Syria. A joint statement, published today, Monday, stated that the world “has drawn its attention over the past period to everything related to the Turkish electoral process, whether parliamentary or presidential, to realize the right of awareness of the position that the Turkish Republic occupies today on the regional and international political map.” The statement emphasized that this interest stems from “the tremendous efforts of the Turkish government over the past two decades to advance the state and society and prepare for what Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan calls the new Turkish century.” The following statements were included in the statement: “Such a vision that accompanies the active role of the Republic of Turkey is well known by all Middle Eastern peoples who see the Turkish model as an inspiring one. In various ways, its electorate contributed to the consolidation of a solid democracy after turmoil, coups and attempts to intervene to chart Turkey’s direction and future.” The Syrian-American initiative, led by the Arab Democratic Coalition, the Global Justice Organization, congratulated Erdogan, the new Turkish parliament, and the Turkish people on the occasion of the success of the elections, in which Turkey proved once again that there is no loser in the political competition that took place, but that all of Turkey won. The Syrian-American initiative also expressed its appreciation for the Turkish president’s keenness, in the moments of his new presidential term, to refuse leniency with the PKK and its arms, which threaten the security of Turkey and Syria together. Noting that he also appreciated Erdogan’s stance against trade regarding the forced deportation of Syrian refugees, which his political opponents are trying to exploit, he said, “We are fully convinced that the time of pressure on Turkey is over and a new era will begin. We will all witness it now.” The statement added: “On this occasion that pleased our Syrian citizens, the refugees among them in Turkey and those who live in northwestern Syria and in and around Ras al-Ain, we aspire for Turkey to play a positive role by sponsoring and organizing a Syrian democratic version in these areas liberated from the sway of the regime.” Assad, and supervises the organization of transparent local council elections affiliated with the Ministry of Local Administration to reach a single civilian government for all of the northwest region and the Ras al-Ain region and its environs, and to dissolve everything else, so that the Syrians choose their own representatives, and entrust them with the responsibility of managing this area that exceeds the area of Lebanon, What would secure the voluntary return of Syrian refugees in Turkey, and provide an appropriate environment for development and reconstruction, as stipulated in our initiative in its planning and procedural documents that were officially issued and delivered to the Turkish and American Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Syrian opposition institutions. It is high time for popular joy to prevail in these areas. Like the one that the Turkish people lived through and the Syrians lived with them.” And she indicated that, thus, “the dream of the Syrians continues to see such a peaceful transfer of power through the ballot boxes in their free and unified country in the near future.” It is worth noting that Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan won a new presidential term, after defeating Turkish opposition candidate Kemal Kilicdaroglu in the second round of the Turkish presidential elections.
