Why have Arab democracy projects not been able to succeed so far?
It is the dominant Iranian far-right in power in Tehran and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his authority in Tel Aviv.
Netanyahu is steeped in an alliance with the Israeli far right because he is clinging to power ( 1996- 1999 & 2009-2023..) Involved in corruption cases (fraud, bribery, breach of trust..).
His fear of accountability in corruption cases led him to curtail the authority of the Supreme Court, as it could not object to government decisions that the judges considered “unreasonable” and therefore could not approve his dismissal if necessary.
On the other hand, The “Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution in Iran” Ali Khamenei, who enjoys absolute power in Iran, and Khamenei interferes in the Middle East with the militias of the “Iranian Guard” and its extremist militias, and sabotages the entity of the countries of the region (Iraq – Syria – Lebanon – Yemen..).
Khamenei’s militias committed crimes against demonstrators for freedom in Syria and elsewhere, and also fought proxy wars in cooperation with international forces against extremist militias (although Tehran embraces some of the leaders of the extremist militias that were previously in Afghanistan and supports them from behind the scenes).
Netanyahu and Khamenei are both fleeing from their internal “duties” and internal problems to “blind wars” at the expense of real peace and people’s rights (Iran has a besieged revolution, Israel has a significant percentage of opponents of Netanyahu’s approach without being able to change it so far, and throughout the Arab region there are democratic projects that have not succeeded because of Khamenei and Netanyahu’s support for tyrants).
Yes, Iran, led by Khamenei, supported the survival of Bashar al-Assad in power, weakened and vulnerable to Khamenei’s mercy, and Iran suppressed and also killed (and continues to kill) the Syrian people. Iran is continuing to commit many violations (including war crimes such as demographic change, as militias affiliated with Iran displaced hundreds of thousands of Syrians from their country, and thus Syrians became refugees in countries neighboring Syria and in Europe).
As for Netanyahu, he indirectly helped Bashar al-Assad, but the Western press and some Arab press revealed the Israeli support led by Netanyahu for Assad’s survival.
Netanyahu moved Israeli diplomacy in Washington and Moscow to exempt Bashar al-Assad from serious punishment after his use of chemical weapons against civilians in Syria. Netanyahu was able to persuade Moscow and Washington to only disarm the crime and keep the criminal Assad uncounted.
Thus, you (dear reader) can find out why the Syrian revolution and other democratic projects in the region did not succeed, and the rest of other common narratives and reasons, you may have heard of, are not real.
Other reasons falsely promoted by media machines (infiltrated by authoritarian forces) include:
– Failure of political activists to practice democracy, or – – divided opposition, or
– – The opposition’s bias towards extremism, and other weak reasons (the real small percentage of which has been amplified). Consequently,
The call for an immediate ceasefire in the Middle East today is a protection for civilians who are paying the price of war.
It is also an attempt to remove the justifications for the survival of extremist forces in power in Tehran and Tel Aviv, and in order to replace them with more moderate political forces that are more likely to achieve peace and prosperity. Such a new political leadership will have no interest in supporting dictatorships at the expense of the people. You should know that nations of the Middle East, like all human beings, are eager for security, peace and freedom based on the principles of respect for human rights.
