The Palestinian Islamic Jihad movement announced the death of one of its leaders in Syria, this morning, Sunday, after he was shot near his place of residence in the Qudsaya area in the countryside of Damascus.
The Al-Quds Brigades, the military wing of Islamic Jihad, said in a statement that the leader, Ali Ramzi Al-Aswad, had died as a result of an assassination operation carried out by Israel.
According to the statement, Ali Al-Aswad is 31 years old, and he hails from Haifa, which his family left in 1948 and settled in the refugee camps in Syria. He joined the ranks of the “Quds Brigades” at an early age.
For his part, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu hinted at Tel Aviv’s responsibility for the liquidation of the lions, and said: “With regard to combating terrorism, our forces are working around the clock in order to settle scores with terrorists and thwart their infrastructure. Dozens of terrorists were eliminated this month.” past, and others were arrested.
He added, “During the weekly government session: “Whoever tries to harm Israeli citizens will pay the price. We will find terrorists and terrorist planners everywhere.”
It should be noted that in November 2019, Israel targeted the home of Akram al-Ajouri, the commander of the al-Quds Brigades in Palestine and abroad, in the Mezzeh neighborhood of Damascus, which led to the death of his son Moaz and the injury of 10 people.
